T&T officials get hockey assignments

The local trio of hockey officials Roger St Rose, Nataki Akii Bua and Rigel Gomes will depart tomorrow to officiate at the 2018 Youth Pan American Hockey Championship in Guadalajara, Mexico, March 12-17.

The tournament serves as a qualifier for the Youth Olympic Games which comes off in Buenos Aires, Argentina, later this year.

St Rose will served as the Umpires Manager is coming off a very busy 2017 in which he once again represented on the international stage as an administrative member at international tournaments.

He was appointed to the 2017 Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games in Jamaica last November having consistently received appointments ranging from Tournament Director of FIH World League Women's Round Two to judge at the Pan American Cup, as well as the Umpires Manager in World League Men's Round Two at the China Games.

St Rose along was also selected to the 2017 CAC Qualifiers in Kingston, Jamaica from November 5th - 12th, 2017. Maureen Craig Rousseau (Pan American Hockey Federation Representative), St. Rose (Umpires Manager), Kevin George (Umpire) and Danielle Thompson (Judge) will all represent T&T at the tournament.

St. Rose will lead the charges for the Men’s side of the competition.
