Cooper leads Bishop’s Centenary to second win

Angel Cooper scored a try and added two conversions to lead Bishop’s Centenary College ‘A’ to a comfortable 14-0 shut-out of Holy Name Convent (Port-of-Spain) ‘A’ when matches in the 2018 Secondary School Girls Rugby League continued at the Queen’s Park Savannah, Port-of-Spain, on Wednesday.

Laquisha Bernard scored the other try for Bishop Centenary in the win over Holy Name ‘A’ to add to their first round 5-0 defeat of Bishop Anstey High School 5-0 with Cooper the lone try scorer in that contest.

The biggest winners on Wednesday were Providence Girls High School who dropped Holy Name Convent ’B’ 21 with a try each from Abigail Adams, Amartis Jawahir and Patrice James and three conversions by Kyiala Simon.

And in the day’s other fixture Bishop Centenary College ‘B’ 5 and Bishop Anstey battled to a 5-all draw with Rianna Bernard and Keryce Baptiste scoring a try each for their respective school.

St James Government Secondary School are the defending champions after they became the fourth school to lift the title in six years last year, courtesy a 15-1 defeat of Bishop Anstey ‘B’ 15-5 in the final.
