Three dead in road fatality in Mayaro

The mangled car which collided with a truck in Mayaro this morning.

Three people have died in an accident today in Bristol Village, Mayaro. 

Dead are Anthony Marcano, 60, of Piererville Mayaro, Sherwin Constantine, 64, of Piererville Mayaro and Saliesha Ali, 41, of Food Crop Road Bristol Village Mayaro. 

According to police, around 11.30 am Marcano, a PH driver, was driving his Toyota Corolla in a westerly direction in the vicinity of the Bristol cemetery. He lost control of his vehicle and slammed into a truck carrying asphalt that was driven by Mano Churkoo. 

The bodies of Ali and Constantine were pulled out of the wreckage from Maracano's car, while Sheronie Rampersad, the only survivor in the car, was rushed to the Sange Grande hospital in a critical condition. 

Speaking with the media the truck driver said that Maracano appeared to have lost controll of the vehicle and missed hitting another truck before slamming into him. Churkoo was not injured in the accident. 

Mayaro Police are investigating.
