The La Savannah Village Council of Guayaguayare got an early Christmas gift on Tuesday, when the National Energy Corporation (NEC) donated a desktop computer to the charitable group.

The presentation took place at the Queen’s Beach Hotel, Mayaro. Wendy Seow, corporate communications manager, said Guayaguayare was one of three “fence-line communities” in which NEC operated. La Brea and Pt Lisas South and East are the other two. She said the company worked with community stakeholders to develop these areas through programmes in youth, sport and culture.

NEC donated  the computer because the council’s offices were destroyed by floodwaters earlier this year.
