Two men held up a Ste Madeleine pensioner and robbed him of more than $13,000 worth of jewelry on Saturday night. Investigators said Seenath Persad, 67, of Palmyra Village, Ste Madeleine, was sitting in his silver B-14 Sentra when two men approached his car. One of the attackers snatched two gold chains and pendants from around the pensioner’s neck valued $12,000.

They also relieved him of two gold rings valued $1,000. Both men then fled the scene using a Nissan van as the getaway vehicle. Persad was unable to see the registration number of the vehicle. The pensioner then drove to the Ste Madeleine police station where he made a report. PC Clarence is continuing investigations.
