An exhibition showcasing the works of Tracey Johnson opened at the Horizons Art Gallery at Mucurapo Road, St James on September 8.

Tracey Johnson is a self-taught natural talent. She was encouraged at an early age by a family of creative geniuses to study art history abroad. But her technique, and style are inspired and enhanced by her children, family and friends. This is her second exhibition at horizons. All Johnson’s paintings are from photos she has taken. With a little imagination she has managed to transform the photographs into something far more interesting than the original, which according to her, were actually quite boring. “I paint from home, up on a hill, in a small corner of the living room with two dogs at my feet and plenty of mosquitoes,” said Tracey Johnson. From detailed houses and fences to rich, green foliage—Tracey Johnson presents an intriguing array of pieces in this exciting exhibition which runs until September 19.
